Aysha Liyana
Aysha Liyana KC - INTERN
Biography
Aysha Liyana KC is a passionate advocate for equity and inclusion, currently pursuing an Erasmus Mundus Masters in Social and Cultural Psychology. Aysha completed her first semester at ISCTE University Institute of Lisbon and is now at the University of Limerick, specializing in the Psychology of Global Mobility, Inclusion, and Diversity in Society (Global MINDS.eu).
Aysha is a member of the steering committee of the University of Limerick Ethnic Diversity Forum, where she actively contributes to promoting race equality on campus and developing policies that foster inclusion, respect, safety, and fairness for all students. She has also worked as a Social Media Consultant for the Mariwala Health Initiative, an advocacy organization focused on the mental health of marginalized communities in India.
This fall semester, Aysha is excited to continue her impactful work through an internship with the BILQIS project at the Irish Centre for Human Rights. Her research focuses on Muslim women’s access to justice in Europe, particularly emphasizing women’s representation in legal bodies from a social-psychological perspective. Aysha will also assist in organizing outreach events and managing social media to further the project’s goals.
